VC3: Trustworthy data analytics in the cloud using SGX

This research paper has been written by Felix Schuster, Manuel Costa, Cedric Fournet, Christos Gkantsidis, Marcus Peinado, Gloria Mainar-Ruiz, and Mark Russinovich while at Microsoft Research. Traditional HPC facilities offer high computing power but with fixed local setups, on which deploying complex apps with specific software and sharing needs is difficult. This paper introduces and explains the VC3 project, a platform that aims to support researchers in pooling and sharing resources in a secure but frictionless way through virtual clusters.

This document is believed to have coined the term "confidential computing".
