SEBI framework compliance

In March 2023, SEBI issued the "Framework for Cloud Adoption by SEBI-Regulated Entities (REs)" circular, outlining principles for the use of cloud computing. The framework, effective immediately for new or proposed cloud projects, applies to stock exchanges, clearing corporations, depositories, and stock brokers in India. It requires REs to identify critical risks and implement control measures before adopting cloud services. By following these guidelines, REs can develop a robust risk management strategy that ensures regulatory compliance through risk assessment and appropriate controls.
In Art. 6.2.9 of the framework, SEBI mandates encrypting data using specifically confidential computing.
