AMD SEV
The concept of confidential virtual machines (CVMs) was pioneered by AMD with the Secure Encrypted Virtualization (SEV) feature. The latest instalment of SEV, called SEV-SNP (for Secure Nested Paging), introduced general-purpose remote attestation. Prior to this, SEV only supported remote attestation for certain use cases. SEV-SNP is available in AMD EPYC server processors from the "Milan" generation onwards.
